This is the old SigFood page. There is a newer community driven SigFood site and a very active SigFood network on Ryze. The same bunch spawned off both.

Food In Mumbai

SIGFood stands for Special Interest Group in Food. What that means is pretty obvious. The idea is very simple - explore a new good food joint as often as possible. Sometimes budget is a concern, sometimes we just let go. There is a mailing list that has outing announcements and general food discussions. SigFood as a mailing list is IITB specific. Sign up if interested. The following are my experiences with food in Mumbai. I will skip obvious cliched prologues like "Mumbai is the food capital of India" etc.

One should have The Times Food Guide to Mumbai to really check out the famous/standard food places in Mumbai. However, a) I rarely agree with food reviews, b) They cover all costly places and not all moderate/cheap places - of course to be fair to them it is not possible in Mumbai :) This page supplements the eatery list at least.
